| How it all began My earliest recollections of Escorts was when I was 7 years old in 1977 when a guy who lived on the next street had bought a mk1 at roughly the same time as another guy on my street had also just bought a mk1 Escort van, Both later had rear spoilers fitted, leopard skin seat covers fury dice and all!!, It was then I knew I wanted to have an Escort when I grew up, At the Time My Dad Owned a 1967 Anglia van. Three years later my Dad arrived home one Day With an orange Mk1 Escort, reg. no. PWD 53M It was Only an 1100 but it was still a mk1. 7 years later Its time for the Driving test and after passing my test I found a Mk1 Escort Van for sale, fitted with a 1300GT engine, spots and a rear seat conversion and red interior lights in the back!! needless to say this was no "company van". From then onwards, I wanted Escorts.
Daves RS Garage web site was set up after a number of years of it being a hobby repairing, welding and replacing body panels on various cars, mainly Escorts and also modifying them for better handling and better performance. |
